Clara-Sofia Ilg is an attorney specializing in criminal law and tax law. Her legal education and professional career reflect a consistent focus on criminal defense, complemented by a solid foundation in tax-related matters.
During her legal studies at Heidelberg University, she chose the specialization “Criminal Sciences” and additionally completed courses in criminal defense and forensic medicine. A semester abroad at the University of Oslo allowed her to deepen her knowledge of international criminal and human rights law.
Practice has always been a priority: For over three years, Clara-Sofia Ilg volunteered in the Prison Law Group of Heidelberg University’s Institute of Criminology, where she advised pre-trial detainees at Mannheim Prison. This experience shaped her understanding of the specific demands of criminal defense and trained her to analyze complex cases and communicate legal strategies clearly.
She continued to focus on criminal law during her legal clerkship at the Regional Court of Stuttgart, completing all attorney placements at renowned criminal law firms. She also worked at the Stuttgart Public Prosecutor’s Office (Department for Capital Offenses), where she drafted indictments and search warrants and voluntarily took on courtroom duties. As group spokesperson during her clerkship, she also handled training-related organizational matters.
Her growing interest in tax law – particularly in tax-related criminal cases – adds analytical depth and strategic nuance to her practice. This includes cases involving tax evasion, voluntary disclosures, and white-collar investigations.
Since June 2025, Clara-Sofia Ilg has been part of the team at MPP Rechtsanwälte Göttingen, where she combines legal precision, strategic thinking, and a strong commitment to her clients’ interests. These qualities make her a trusted partner in both criminal and tax law matters.
